The newest thing I'm doing with my kids is a nature search. On our walks the kids pick up all kinds of things from a pine cone to a leaf, even a blade of grass. They then put in their bags and carry them home. When we get home we go through each item and see if we can't identify exactly what it is. We then go online and look up the names. We finally put everything back in the bag so we can make collages out of them.
How to Make the Collages:
We start with a piece of construction paper, our items, wax paper and an iron.
- Arrange your items on the construction paper.
- Put wax paper over it.
- Iron over top of the wax paper, this melts it to the construction paper and keeps the items in place.
